Identification and Placement
Preschoolers, primary and high school
students who are gifted attend the Institution.
Selecting the Students as
Candidates
Preschoolers are selected as
candidates for the Institution either by their parents
(legal guardians) or by their class guidance teachers
(outside the field). Primary and high school students
are selected as candidates by the committee of the class
guidance teachers.
Arts and Science Institutions send
observation forms prepared by the Ministry to all
preschool, primary and high school institutions in
October every year.
These observation forms are
filled in by:
a-
the parents (legal guardians) of 3-6 aged
children who don’t attend preschool,
b-
the teachers or parents (legal guardians) of 3-6
aged children who attend preschool,
c-
the teachers of the students currently attending
grades 1-5 at primary schools and the committee of the
teachers (teaching in their classes) of the students in
grades 6-8,
d-
the committee of the class guidance teachers at
high schools.
Teachers, committees of teachers or
parents (legal guardians) select the children as
candidates. School Management prepares student
attendance certificate (with their photos on it) for the
students who take the formal education. The lists of
candidate students, observation forms and student
attendance certificates are sent to Arts and Science
Institutions by the end of February. After examining the
documents carefully, Institutions make identification in
April or May.
If there are some students/children
who do not become candidates until deadline due to any
reason, their parents (legal guardians), their teachers
or the committee of the teachers can submit their
applications to the Institution. The children/students
whose applications are approved are evaluated.
Pre-Evaluation
Observation forms of the candidates
are evaluated by identification committee. After
pre-evaluation, the lists of the students who will be
identified are sent to their schools or parents.
Group Identification
After pre-evaluation, students are
taken into group identification. Group identification is
performed by the sub-committee of consultation. The date
of group identification and the evaluation criteria and
tools are determined by the sub-committee.
Individual Evaluation
Individual evaluation is applied by
the psychological counsellors (working at guidance and
research centres, formal and informal education
institutions, universities or other institutions) in
Arts and Science Institutions. During the evaluation,
objective and relevant measurement tools are used.
Enrolment and Placement
Students are listed according to the
individual evaluation results. This listing is sent to
the General Directorate.
After examining the list, General
Directorate confirms and sends it back to the
Institution. Enrolment form,
parental consent document, a legal copy of
identity card, four photos are necessary to enrol to the
Institution. |
